BBA Guest Speaker Session-4 (Fall-18)

UCP feels pleased to have Mr. Shamsher Haider, lead ICT Consultant for Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) and Director, Systems Integration at Xertab (Pvt) as a guest speaker. Currently as a consultant and Previously, as functional head of the IT wing of PSCA, Mr. Shamsher has led complex teams working in diverse areas of ICT including bespoke software development, Cyber Security, legacy Police wireless technologies, IoT, Big Data analytics and Data Center Management. He has built IT and software systems for multiple public sector organizations related to counter terrorism and smart policing that also encompassed business process analysis, identification of technology resources, hiring, procurement of resources, deployment and training of teams for coordinated operations. Shamsher has also worked for NetSol Technologies (Pvt), Punjab Information Technology Board and has steered systems integration for retail, banking and airline clients in South East Asia as well. Based on his vast and diverse practical experience, Shamsher touched all the aspects of Big Data in his talk.

Later Mr. Shamsher Haider had a meeting with Dean Business School and relevant faculty aiming at a better understanding of the happenings in this field. He took the attendees through the developmental stages of PSCA, giving a fair idea of types of competencies required to complete such big projects and also discussed e-governance with Big Data analytics
