The Book Meet is a sitting/gathering organized by UCP Literary Society monthly or sometimes, even fortnightly. It is an open session whereby everybody from the University is welcome to join in and they can share their thoughts. The session provides a platform for expression of one’s interpretation and learning.
This month’s session was based on two segments. In the first half, books and novels were talked on, where a participant shared the idea that had been extracted by them from the book which led to a healthy discussion among the participants, consisting of exchange of ideas as well as constructive criticism. The books under discussion included: Peer-e-Kamil by Umera Ahmad, Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
The second half was marked with the participants reading out loud their own pieces of writing. Poetry (dark, light, painful, motivational) and prose (sadistic, inspirational, humorous) was shared and the writers were encouraged on their efforts.
The informative book-worm session ended with all avid readers having a new insight on their favorite books and a bucket list of to-be-read books
