Center for Applied Research Kick-Starts

UCP Business School’s newly established Center for Applied Research has initiated its activities by setting up initial liaison with industry, and in parallel, formulating TORs to engage external stakeholders in future. The center is focusing on Pharmaceuticals as first sector of interest, with intended academic deliverables encompassing macro and micro level issues faced by the industry. As part of initial inroads into the sector’s leadership circle, Dr. Hassan Rauf, Associate Dean (Academics) and Head of Case Center accompanied by Mr. Ahmad Ammar (Program Director-BBA), visited NovaMed Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd and had a detailed meeting with the company’s MD, Mr. Tahir Iqbal. The meeting with the host, having over 35 years experience in the pharmaceuticals, including 17 years of leading one of the top MNCs, Merck Sharp & Dohme International, delivered very useful inputs for starting an industry competitiveness research report and focused case studies. The center aims to expand active team and share further updates in coming weeks.
