View mapSyeda Ayesha Sheeraz from Department of Psychology (FASS) was invited at Civil Services Academy (CSA), which is a premier training institution of Pakistan for pre-service training of Civil Servants recruited by Federal Public Service Commission and was offered to be a part of the plenary to conduct 5 series of workshop of 1 hour each on Psychosocial Skills to 46th Probationary officers belonging to various regions and Federal Services of Pakistan.
The aim of the workshop was to equip the officers with empirical based psychological intervention that has been proven to manage practical and emotional challenges. The project of this workshop was organized in collaboration with Liverpool University (UK) and Human Development Research Foundation (HDRF, Pakistan) under the auspices of WHO.
Keeping the significance of mental health in relation to job performance, it is the 1st time in Pakistan that civil servants were formally introduced to practice some basic strategies which emphasize on enhancing their psychological capital during their Common Training Program(CTP). The workshops were tailor-made program, intended to develop skills for coping up with current challenges or potential stressors that they may face in their career path at various levels.
