A Guest Speaker Session on Seed Funding

CEO of Seedout.org, Mr. Zain, was invited as a guest speaker to introduce the students with
“Seed Funding”. He explained the framework of Seedout.org and explained effectively the
integration of key factors which led to successful entrepreneurial ventures in alignment with
technology as a catalyst. Keeping his audience engaged, he explained “How one should pursue
the context of Social Entrepreneurship.” He also spoke about the prerequisites of starting a
business and running it in an ecofriendly way. Throughout the session, he thoroughly discussed
his passion for Social Entrepreneurship and shared his upstream story. He also talked about his
motivated move to Pakistan after his studies in the United States. Further, he discussed different
strategies which entrepreneurs should put in effect in order to attract a low income workforce
and make it a part of a wider society without Microfinance loans. Seedout.org enables such a
mind frame.
Students participated keenly and asked relevant questions regarding Seedout.org. They were also
interested in opportunities for young entrepreneurs in planning, financing and managing the
Social Enterprise. Mr.Zain stressed on the importance of proper planning and structured learning
through education. He highlighted the importance of Business with Social Purpose in order to
deal with challenging situations, especially faced by the lower-middle class segments of society.
He concluded that the road to success is – hard work, innovation, passion, persistence and social
purpose. The session ended with a question answer round.
This session not only educated students on Startup Funding for Entrepreneurs but also tried to
inculcate entrepreneurial spirit in them. Moreover, it certainly motivated students to engage in
Social Entrepreneurship. Overall, it was a refreshing educative session.
