View mapThe Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), Japan organized a Business Study Program for management practitioners, training them for significant productivity enhancement and indirect cost reduction in workplaces. The assessment based certified training on TMS under this program was held in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan in February, 2019. Dr. ShehryarShahid participated and cleared certification exam successfully. This talk session was planned with an intent to broaden the management perspective of applied researchers and students, with takeaways from the aforementioned training and speaker’s viewpoint on the subject.
The session began with a compendious overview of TMS, its evolution from Toyota Production System (TPS), the company’s widely recognized socio-technical system, and Toyota Product Development System (TDS) that the auto giant devised for management in design. The speaker then enlightened the attendees with his empirical observations from local industry and his expert opinions pivoted around the prospects of, and impediments in implementing TMS in Pakistani companies.
