Dr. M. Umair

Dr. Umair has over 20 years of local and international experience in various academic appointments and industrial leadership roles, including positions as Startup Co-founder, Deputy Director, Senior Manager, ML Consultant, Assistant Professor, and Graduate Researcher. He received his PhD from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia where he was affiliated with the High-Performance Cloud Computing Centre. His research interests include the application of efficient deep learning and computer vision techniques in the fields of astronomy, oceanography, and renewable energy. In his spare time, he enjoys observing celestial objects, playing various musical instruments, writing poetry, and hiking.
