Dr. Saleem Akhtar is an accomplished academic and media professional with over 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry practice. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor and MPhil/MS Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Media and Mass Communication, UCP. He holds a PhD in Media Studies and was a Visiting PhD Scholar at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media, and Culture, UK. Additionally, he earned an MPhil in Communication Studies and an MBA from The CTL Euro College, Cyprus. With prior leadership roles as Head of Department at UCP TV and Production House, as well as production experience at GNN TV and Midas (Pvt.) Ltd., Dr. Saleem bridges academia and industry expertise. His research focuses on journalism, broadcast media, digital communication, and political communication, with multiple published papers and supervised theses at FMMC, UCP.
