Prof. Dr. Mahtab Ahmad Khan is a distinguished academician and researcher, serving as a Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore, Pakistan. Since 2021, Dr. Khan has also held the key administrative position of Dean of Faculty, providing strategic academic leadership and institutional direction aligned with outcome-based education (OBE) and quality assurance frameworks.

With over two decades of experience in academia and research, he has demonstrated excellence in curriculum design and reform, academic governance, faculty development, and student success initiatives. His leadership has been instrumental in developing new academic programs, launching innovative courses, and fostering a culture of research excellence and continuous improvement within higher education. Dr. Khan is recognized as a collaborative team builder and strategic planner, committed to achieving institutional goals, enhancing student learning outcomes, and promoting global academic partnerships. His expertise spans neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative disorders, and rodent behavioral pharmacology, with a strong focus on translational neuroscience. His research integrates data-driven decision-making, advanced biostatistics, experimental design, and pharmacodynamic modeling, bridging preclinical models with innovative therapeutics in CNS drug development.

A passionate advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration, research innovation, and academic excellence, Dr. Khan continues to contribute meaningfully to institutional capacity building, faculty mentoring, and evidence-based academic management—both locally and internationally.
