Dr. Zohaib Aftab, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, has won a substantial research grant of Rs. 18.87 million to establish a robotics lab in UCP. This lab is part of a larger network of labs under the umbrella of National Center of Robotics and Automation (NCRA), an initiative of the planning commission of Pakistan. The lab in UCP shall conduct cutting-edge research in the area of Rehabilitation Robotics, aimed at developing novel cost-effective exoskeleton devices to help disabled persons walk again.
Dr. Zohaib leads the BioMechatronics research group in UCP and is with the university since 2013.
