Dr. Hassan Sartaj

Dr. Hassan Sartaj is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore. Prior to joining UCP, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Simula Research Laboratory, Oslo, Norway, where he worked on European Union and Research Council of Norway-funded research projects in collaboration with European industry partners. He also served as an Assistant Professor and Visiting Lecturer at FAST-NUCES, Islamabad, where he taught various courses in computer science department. He holds a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from FAST-NUCES, Islamabad, and earned a Gold Medal in his MS (Software Engineering). He is an HEC-Approved Supervisor. His research interests include AI-driven Software Testing, Digital Twins, Model-Driven Engineering, and Search-Based Software Engineering. He has established strong international research collaborations with leading universities and research organizations across Europe.
Dr. Hassan has published extensively in leading software engineering journals and conferences, including ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM), Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE), ICSE, FSE, ASE, ICST, MODELS, and ECSA, with numerous publications appearing in CORE A* and CORE A venues. He has supervised and co-supervised Ph.D. and master’s students in Pakistan and Europe. He is an active reviewer for top-tier journals such as IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE), ACM TOSEM, and EMSE. He is also actively involved in the international research community through service as Proceedings Chair of major international conferences and as a Program Committee (PC) Member for flagship venues including FSE, ASE, ICST, MODELS, ESEM, ISSTA, and ICSE.
