Admission Procedure

M.Sc. in Electrical

The GAT-General conducted by the National Testing Service with a minimum 50 % cumulative score is mandatory. Admission to the program is granted strictly on merit which is determined on the basis of performance in the following:

  • Bachelor/Equivalent Exam Results
  • Interview

(A subject-based written test will be conducted to shortlist the students for interviews if required) University can administer a written test in place of GAT- General.
University can administer a written test in place of GAT- General.
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA-Ships)
Limited (GTA-ships) are available for students. GTA duties and scheduled hours will vary from course to course. A GTA must not be availing any other scholarship simultaneously.

Admission Requirements

M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering

Master of Science in Engineering spans over 1.5 years minimum and 3 years maximum. Each semester consists of 18 weeks in duration. Total number of courses to be studied during the program is 10. Students also have an option to take 8 courses with thesis.

Program Requirements for M.Sc. (EE)


Option # 1: 30 Credit Hours course work (10 Courses)
CGPA Req. for Degree: 2.50 or more
Option # 2: Minimum 24 Credit Hours course work (8 Courses) + 6 Credit Hours thesis
CGPA Req. for Degree: 2.00 or more (for course work)
The Faculty will decide to offer the thesis depending upon the available resources and performance of the students during the course work.

Eligibility for Admission in M.Sc. (EE)

Sixteen years of studies or 4 years education (130 credit hours), after HSSC/F.Sc./A-Levels/Grade 12 equivalent, in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Telecom Engineering from a PEC accredited program.For admission in M.Sc. (EE), a minimum CGPA 2.00 (out of 4.00 in the semester system) or 2nd division (in the annual system) in bachelor/master/ equivalent degree is required. Applicants for admission must mention the PEC registration number.
