Dr. Ammara Masood is an Assistant Professor of Biotechnology with extensive academic, teaching, and research experience in agricultural biotechnology, plant genomics, and molecular breeding. She completed her PhD in Biotechnology from the Department of Biotechnology, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore (2020–2025). Her doctoral research, titled “Assessment of Genetic Diversity and Characterization of Pakistani Citrus Varieties Using Multiple Genotyping Approaches,” was conducted in collaboration NARC and QAU, Islamabad.

Her PhD research focused on the application of advanced molecular and genomic approaches for the genotyping, characterization, and genetic diversity assessment of Pakistani citrus germplasm, including the identification of informative SNP markers and comprehensive genetic analysis for potential applications in molecular breeding.
Dr. Ammara previously completed her MPhil in Biotechnology from the National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE-PIEAS). Her MPhil research focused on the isolation, evaluation, and characterization of hybrid gene promoters from monocot and dicot plants, utilizing bioinformatics and molecular biology approaches. Her work also involved the construction and optimization of cloning and expression vectors.

With over nine years of teaching and academic experience, Dr. Ammara has actively contributed to higher education, scientific research, and capacity-building initiatives. She has participated in and organized numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific training programs, serving as both a speaker and organizer.

She has published 29 international full-length research articles, along with several international conference publications. Her research interests broadly encompass plant genomics, agricultural biotechnology, molecular breeding, genetic diversity, and marker development.
