Dr. Sawaira Rashid is a distinguished scholar specialized in South Asian regional politics, the U.S.-India strategic partnership, American foreign policy towards South Asia, the nuclearization of the region, the War on Terror, and the re-emergence of U.S. influence in South Asia. Her research also focuses on Pakistan’s evolving security concerns, China’s emerging role in the region, and the dynamics of SAARC. She earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and has also served as a faculty member at the University of Education, Lahore.

At present, Dr. Rashid is serving in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the University of Central Punjab, Lahore. At UCP, she teaches a diverse range of courses, including Politics of South Asia, Foreign Policy of Pakistan, Research Methodology for Social Sciences, Regional and International Organizations, and Introduction to Political Science. Her teaching combines academic rigor with practical insights, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of both regional and global political dynamics.

Dr. Sawaira Rashid’s academic and professional contributions reflect her deep commitment to advancing scholarship in political science and fostering critical engagement with contemporary geopolitical issues.
