Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh’s visit as Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Shandong University of Science and Technology, China

Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Professor of Chemistry completed a highly productive visit as Adjunct Professor of Chemistry and Nanomaterials at Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST) in China from July 3-13, 2024. This visit was part of the Joint Scientific Exchange Program funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF). Dr. Farrukh is the principal investigator of this PSF-NSFC joint project.
Dr. Farrukh’s participated in the 18th Shandong Province Higher Education Institutions Joint Conference, held in Qingdao, China, attended by Deans and Department Heads from across Shandong province. Dr. Farrukh engaged with academic leaders and industry experts, including representatives from Haizhichen and Huawei, to discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and industrial automation in higher education representing the University of Central Punjab.

During this period, Dr. Farrukh collaborated with leading researchers and research scholars, focusing on the cutting-edge analysis and AI applications of graphene-based nanomaterials. Using advanced techniques such as High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), he provided significant insights into the structural and chemical properties of these materials, paving the way for innovations in nanotechnology.

He was invited to deliver talks at Henan Normal University and Ocean University of China, sharing expertise on integrating artificial intelligence with molecular spectroscopy for advanced nanomaterials analysis and applications. These talks were well-received and opened discussions for future collaborative projects linking nanotechnology, AI, and DFT studies.

University of Central Punjab commends Dr. Farrukh’s contributions and anticipates the continued advancement of scientific research through such prestigious international collaborations.
