IQBAL DAY AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE

A prestigious event on ‘Iqbal’ was organized by the Department of Politics and International Relations-FASS in collaboration with ‘Dabistan-e-Iqbal’ at the main auditorium of the University of Central Punjab.
The essential purpose of this event was to make students acquainted with the true spirit of Iqbal’s ideology and philosophy. It also aimed at conceptualizing and disseminating the intellectual, political, philosophical and poetic work of Iqbal.
The chief guest of this program was the president of Dabistan e Iqbal, Mian Iqbal Salahuddin (Grandson of Iqbal). He graced the event along with the executive members of his organization, Dabistan e Iqbal.
Mian Iqbal Salahuddin addressed the students about the vision of Iqbal. He elucidated Iqbal’s ideology of a prosperous nation linked with the personal development of individuals. Moreover, he focused on a life of creativity and practicality, personality formation with freedom of choice, self-reliance, and the full use of possible latent capacities. He also displayed the breathtaking videos of Iqbal’s poetry. He concluded the session by motivating the students to formulate a creative and tolerant society based on Iqbal’s vision.
Mian Iqbal’s presentation was followed by a question-answer session, in which queries of students about Iqbal were answered. In the end, all students were appreciated for their presence, and especially the management team of department students were applauded for their maximum participation in making the event possible.

The event concluded with the Vote of thanks by the Dean FASS, Prof. Dr Fehmida Sultana. She also presented souvenirs to the guest.
