Pre-conference Workshop on “Risk Assessment and Clinical Presentation Substance Use Disorders with Co-Morbid Psychiatric Disorders”

Department of Psychology in collaboration with Fountain House organized this pre-conference workshop by Psychiatrist Dr Junaid Rasool (MBBS, FCPS) Assistant Professor, Head of Psychiatry, Fatima Memorial Hospital and Medical College, Lahore, Co-Founder of Psych Consultants and the Fairway Clinic. The workshop provided significant insights and skills for healthcare professionals and students. It emphasized the importance of integrated care for treating individuals with both substance use and mental health issues and highlighted the need for a holistic approach to treatment, fostering more compassionate and effective care. Participants learned about the latest diagnostic techniques and support systems through this interactive session with expert guidance and gained practical knowledge to manage complex cases – enhancing their ability to provide comprehensive support to those affected by these intertwined conditions. This workshop was organized as part of the preparations for the Global Conference on Psychopathology & Rehabilitation (GCPR-24), themed “Wellness: Our Shared Responsibility,” held at UCP on June 26 & 27, 2024.
