The Joint Secretary of Adabi Majlis, Ms Rabia Asad opened the event with a recitation from the Holy Quran. The conference room was filled with members from both the society and the university. Vice President Adabi Majlis, Mr. Saad Sabri, read out one of Manto’s best short stories followed by a screening of a segment from Sarmad Khoosat’s film “Manto,” featuring the song “Mehram Dila De Mahi,” which aptly depicted the previously read story.

Subsequently, the Co-Patron, Mr. Ahmad Hammad, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Ali Nawaz Shah, who delivered a concise and insightful talk on Manto’s writing style, character, and life. He also touched upon the unique challenges faced by writers. Before the session concluded, the President, Alham Tariq, delivered a heartfelt thank-you note, expressing gratitude to Mr. Ali Nawaz Shah for his enlightening talk, and to all attendees for their enthusiastic participation. This gesture was warmly received and further highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event.
