Introduction:

Excel Dashboard is a reporting tool for Supply Chain Managers used to track supply chain KPIs and metrics in a single display or interface. Supply chain dashboards track inventory levels, logistics management, and warehouse operations. A procurement dashboard enables purchasing manager to efficiently track, evaluate, and optimize all acquisition processes within a company with the help of procurement KPIs such as the compliance rate, purchase order cycle time, supplier defect rate, and many more.

 

In order to develop practical understanding of students a training session was organized on the topic “Excel Dashboards and Data Visualization” for BBA students on Wednesday,23rd November 2022 from 5:00- 700 pm. Mr. Saif ur Rehman, Deputy Manager Supply Chain, Mughal Steel was invited as trainer. Students from the class of “Transportation & Distribution Planning” (MGMT 4673), Fundamentals of Operations Management, (BAMG 2823) and Supply Chain Sourcing (MGMT 4473)” attended the training session.

Course Objectives:

Following course objectives were achieved from the session

(Sourcing)

Understand different tools and techniques for strategic cost management in purchasing process with respect to different product categories
CO3 (Transportation) Discuss the issues with the optimal design of distribution networks, optimal facilities location, warehousing systems, optimal inventory positioning and optimal selection of transportation modes.
CO7:

(Operations Management)

Impart knowledge of demand and capacity options and strategies for aggregate planning.

BBA Program Objectives:

Following course BBA program objectives were achieved from the session

PO2: Build managerial cognition of the students with a variety of planning, organizing, controlling, leading, and communication skills necessary to effectively manage business and influence society.
PO3: Nurture problem analysis and decision-making skills in students, required to handle challenges faced by the modern business world and equip them with quantitative and qualitative tools to evaluate local and global business opportunities and successfully materialize new entrepreneurial ventures.

Technically proficient Logistics and Supply Chain Management professionals were always part of these teams to get desired goals, with a broad knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain processes and practices including

  • Warehouse management mechanism development, implementation and running activities analysis
  • Inbound and outbound logistics management development
  • Negotiation with local and international Vendors & Suppliers for the supply of right product
  • Procurement process from purchase request to goods receiving and billing
  • Complete warehouse activities from goods receiving to Issuance
  • Complete Import Process including purchase deals
