Walk For A Cause: UCP FLOOD Relief Campaign

University of Central Punjab hosted the ‘Walk for a Cause’ event as part of their Flood Relief Campaign. `The event took place in collaboration with the VIS and the Alumni Relations Office, on 30th August, 2022. The monsoon rains in Pakistan this year have obliterated the homes of more than 30 million people and taken the lives of a several thousand. As a result, UCP’s faculty, staff, and students have taken it on as their social responsibility to aid the less fortunate as much as is in their power.
Headed by Dr. Nasser Ikram, the Pro-Rector at UCP, the UCP community walked from their beloved campus towards the WAPDA Town roundabout in the Allama Iqbal Zone of Lahore on Tuesday afternoon. Their goal – to collect funds, spread awareness, and distribute leaflets containing detailed information on the situation and guidelines on how we can collectively help. The goal was achieved by having one on one conversations with people during their walk and personally sharing information regarding the situation at hand with them.
This walk was the first of many initiatives taken by the university to showcase their solidarity with the flood victims in affected areas of Pakistan. Included in the items collected for the flood victims were clothes, blankets, dry ration packets, medicines, tents, mattresses, and more.
