BS Political Science

Political Science is the systematic study of how individuals and institutions exercise and resist power, and how nations and communities are governed. Studies in Political Science focus on the theory, evolution and practice of government and politics at the local, state, national, and international level. Recognizing the importance of the subject and need for trained professionals in the field, the University of Central Punjab (UCP) is introducing an undergraduate program in Political Science.

The University of Central Punjab aims to produce graduates with an understanding of institutions, practices, and relations that constitute public life and developing modes of inquiry that promote citizenship. UCP has highly qualified core faculty members to teach Political Science, and expert teachers are available throughout the University who specialize in the teaching of compulsory and Inter-disciplinary courses.

  2. 1. Successful completion of prescribed course work. 2. Securing the final Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.00/4.00

Prospects

Political Science provides education to those whose primary interest is a professional career in Governance and Administration in either the public or private sector. Students would find their degrees useful for entrance into federal, provincial and local government service, working for international organizations, careers in social work, in media and journalism, in academia and even in career politics. The design of the program prepares students to be competitive for Governmental Agencies, Nongovernmental Organizations, and Research and Academic Organizations.
