BS Political Science

Political Science is the systematic study of how individuals and institutions exercise and resist power, and how nations and communities are governed. Studies in Political Science focus on the theory, evolution, and practice of government and politics at the local, state, national, and international levels. Recognizing the importance of the subject and the need for trained professionals in the field, the University of Central Punjab (UCP) is introducing an undergraduate program in Political Science.

The University of Central Punjab aims to produce graduates with an understanding of institutions, practices, and relations that constitute public life and develop modes of inquiry that promote citizenship. UCP has highly qualified core faculty members to teach Political Science, and expert teachers are available throughout the University who specializes in the teaching of compulsory and Interdisciplinary courses.

Admission Criteria

Admission Requirements

  1. Intermediate (FA/F.Sc.) or equivalent securing at least 45% marks in aggregate.
  2. All applicants must pass the UCP Admission Test

Prospects

Political Science provides education to those whose primary interest is a professional career in Governance and Administration in either the public or private sector. Students would find their degrees useful for entrance into federal, provincial and local government service, working for international organizations, careers in social work, in media and journalism, in academia and even in career politics. The design of the program prepares students to be competitive for Governmental Agencies, Nongovernmental Organizations, and Research and Academic Organizations. UCP offers career support and advice and assist students in their study choices. Through internship programs, students would gain acumen, beneficial work experience and transferable skills giving them a competitive advantage in a fast-paced working environment.
