Ph.D. International Relations

University of Central Punjab is starting a PhD program in International Relations at the Department of Political Science and IR. The program is designed to cultivate scholars and researchers who will contribute significantly to the field of International Relations through cutting-edge research and critical analysis. Doctorate in International Relations is one of a handful of postgraduate/ research degrees offered in the discipline of IR across Pakistan. The vibrant research-oriented environment of UCP and its facilities enables students to generate new knowledge in the field of IR, critically analyze academic research and apply existing experience to add to the higher scholarship.

Road Map

PhD SCHEME OF STUDIES PhD 3-5 YEARS

Following is the scheme of studies for 3 – 5 years PhD program in International Relations. Candidates must complete 30 credit hours, including 12 credit hours of thesis to fulfill PhD requirements.

Admission Criteria

MS/MPhil degree (18 years of education) in International Relations (IR), Political Science, South Asian Studies, Defence and Strategic Studies (DSS), Foreign Policy Studies, Public Policy, Political Economy, Diplomatic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Regional Studies, International Organizations Studies, Peace Studies, Conflict and Conflict Resolution, Environmental Politics, Nuclear Studies, Governance, Fiscal Policy Studies, Local Self-Government , or other relevant disciplines in the fields of social sciences from an HEC-recognized university, with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (semester system) or 1st Division annual system. (Exceptions to this requirement will be considered in accordance with HEC policy).
