Introduction to Psychology

The main objective is to investigate the nature of Psychology and its application. It will help the students to gain insight about personality structure and interpersonal relationships individual possesses with others. It will also support the students to explore the ways in which psychological theories are used to describe, understand, predict, and control or modify behavior.

This introductory course in psychology covers many of the major ideas in contemporary psychology but focuses mainly on psychology as a science. It involves examination of psychological phenomenon from bio-psycho-social perspectives. Contemporary issues in psychology such as perception, thinking, language, intelligence, emotions, motivation, learning, memory and personality are explored. Scientific methodology and its application to psychological phenomena are stressed.
