Successful completion of the International Joint Project on Climate Change

University of Central Punjab has signed an MoU with Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University at Albany, State University of New York, USA to work on the joint project “Air pollution monitoring of PM2.5 in Lahore to investigate the cause of smog and its effects on health”. University at Albany funded PKR 4.21 million for this project. The project assembly was installed at Gate 05, Security Check Post, Building C, UCP. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Professor of Chemistry, FOST and Dr. Haider A. Khwaja from University at Albany, USA, are the principal investigators.

The project was completed within time frame and the samples collected during the smog season as well as after the smog season in year 2023 with 24 hours monitoring have been dispatched to USA for further analysis.
