FOE Faculty Member Successfully Completed Post Doctoral Research

After successfully completing his Post-Doctoral Research (Marie Curie Experienced Researcher) at Loughborough University, United Kingdom, Dr. Gulraiz Ahmed has re-joined *Mechanical Engineering Department* in November 2017. He worked under supervision of Professor Victor Starov on a European Union funded Initial Training Network project titled “CoWet”. The aim of his project was to develop a new physical theory of behaviour of liquid droplets on soft solids taking into account the surface forces action and contact angle hysteresis. He published several papers in highly rated scientific journals such as, Advances in Colloids and Interface Science [1], and Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects [2]. Several publications are in the review process. He presented his work at the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) conferences in 2016 and 2017 as well as Bubble and Drop Interfaces (B&D) 2017 conference. During his research position he did secondments in the Department of Interfacial Phenomena, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, Lublin, Poland in 2016 and at the Facultad de Ciencias Qu´ımicas, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Madrid, Spain in 2017.
