Virtual Shakespearean Theatre

UCP English Department gave a tribute to the canonical writer, William Shakespeare, by conducting an intra-department online competition “Virtual Shakespearean Theatre” on 7th April 2021. The students, despite of unfavourable conditions, showed utmost enthusiasm and actively participated. They chose to go multilingual and performed on different works of Shakespeare with a twist in the plot and improvisation in the script. The audience which was approximately more than 200 in number, including deans, lecturers and students not only from English but other departments as well, encouraged the participants by commenting their support and love. The winning performance “Three Women, Three Tales” along with the other performances were immensely enjoyed by the spectators. Our judges, Dr. Fehmida Sultana and Dr. Jaleel Akhtar highly appreciated the hard work and motivated the students to engage themselves in such healthy activities more often.
