The Department of Electrical Engineering is dedicated to continued innovation through its vibrant dynamic environment and competitive research. The department offers a PhD programme in Electrical Engineering which covers a wide spectrum of fields keeping up with the fast pace of technological advancement. Its carefully designed nominally two-year degree Ph.D. programme aims at producing researchers in the areas of Telecommunications, Control Systems, Signal and Image Processing, Power Systems, Networks and Computer Systems. To achieve this goal, the department has got a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members while establishing a strong liaison with research and development organizations and t h e industry.

Admission Criteria

At least 3.00/4.00 CGPA or 60% marks from an annual system in MS or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering
All Candidates are required to pass the UCP Admission Test with a 60% score or a test equivalent to GRE/HAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC with a passing score of 60% followed by an interview by the Graduate Admission Committee

Prospects

Ph.D. programme in the electrical engineering department is designed for producing researchers in the fields of electrical power systems, control systems, communication systems, and digital signal processing that can contribute to the state of the art in science and technology. The students undergo a rigorous course work followed by 2 to 3 years of extensive supervised research. This process enables our graduates to conduct independent innovative research that helps towards identification, analysis, and solution of the problems faced by the society within the domain of electrical engineering. Our graduates can contribute to academia by supervising young researchers as well as in industry by improving industrial processes and products.
