M.Phil./MS Applied Linguistics aims to provide a sound foundation in the fundamentals of Applied Linguistics with opportunities for prospective graduates to develop critical thinking and research skills through analysis and the application of theory to issues in linguistics specifically relevant to Pakistan. A range of rigorous courses intends at strengthening students’ command on specific topics as well as theoretical issues. It also aims at providing crucial preparation for writing the dissertation and making substantial contributions to work in students’ chosen field(s). The program ultimately envisions producing well-trained and productive scholars, sympathetic and intelligent critics, and effective and imaginative teachers and professionals.
