Welcome to the Faculty of Management Studies, one of the largest management schools in the country with over 3500 students enrolled in its various degree programs. The Faculty of Management Studies in its present form is the culmination of consistent efforts of Punjab Group of Colleges in the last 22 years to serve the large community by providing the state-of-the-art business education at tertiary level.
In 1991, the Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA) was established during the time when the government was reluctant to grant charter to private universities. In a short span of time, PCBA became an internationally recognized institution of business education. The PCBA ran collaborative MBA programs effectively with several foreign universities including Arkansas State University, USA, and Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. The alumni of PCBA are presently serving a number of leading national and international organizations at senior positions.
In 2002, the University of Central Punjab was established under the University of Central Punjab Ordinance 2002 with six faculties including Faculty of Management Studies. The PCBA was merged into Faculty of Management Studies.
In 2012, a major reorganization initiative was undertaken with the establishment of UCP Business School with four academic divisions and six centers. Since then the strategic renewal of Faculty of Management Studies under the umbrella of UCP Business School is going on. Recently, we have added a good number of PhDs to our faculty and launched new specialized MS programs in four major functional areas of business – management, marketing, finance and operations & supply chain management. We have also restructured our BBA and MBA programs to offer more choices to our prospective students by introducing single and double major. Also a number of minors in business and non-business fields have been offered. Having professional links with a number of British and American Universities such as University of Stirling, University of Southern California, and Arkansas State University, we have greatly benefited from structures of their business schools and business curricula in our recent academic and administrative initiatives.
Our newly restructured BBA and MBA programs are designed to help our students to build more focused knowledge base and professional skills in business management and prepare them for leadership positions in private, public and civil society organizations. On the other hand, our MS and PhD programs aim at preparing academic leaders for business schools and research organizations. We also have executive programs for mid-career managers to meet their career aspirations.
The structure and contents of all these programs reflect our commitment to educating business and academic leaders who are analytical, creative, culturally sensitive, and operation effective. A fine balance between rigor and relevance, coupled with learner-centered teaching is the hallmark of our learning culture. We also feel proud to offer a social life on campus which is an excellent blend of modernity and our rich cultural traditions.
The crucial information about all our programs is provided here to help you to decide which program suits you. If you have any further questions, our dedicated staff at the admission office will assist you. We hope that you will consider UCP as your alma mater.
