Dr. Aatif Amin
Assistant Professor, HOD Officiating
Ext: 327
Dr. Aatif Amin obtained Ph.D. Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. His area of expertise is Environmental Microbiology/Biotechnology, with a research focus on investigating the mechanism of heavy metal resistance in microorganisms at genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomics levels. He won a research grant of 1.4 million for a project proposal entitled “Exploring the determinants of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in parents of children and adolescents in Pakistan; A multicenter study” which is the first instance of UCP winning a grant under HRI, NIH. He visited the University of California, San Diego, USA for a research project entitled “cloning, expression, isotope labeling, and purification of transmembrane proteins, MerF and MerE from Hg-resistant bacteria for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies”. He has published 18 research articles in peer-reviewed Impact Factor journals, 3 book chapters, and many conference papers on his credit.
