
Waqas Ali
Senior Lecturer
Waqas was born in Lahore, Pakistan. He is doing PhD in computer science from Comsats University Lahore campus. He received the B.S. degree in computer science and the M.S. degree in software engineering from the University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. From 2014 to 2015, he was a Software Developer in Assort Tech Pvt., Ltd. After that he started his career as a Lecturer at the Computer Science Department in University of Management and Technology and worked there around 6.5 years. He is now working as a Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Information Technology (FOIT) at UCP. His industry and academia experience, innovative ideas and forward-thinking leadership ability always guide students to offer appropriate technology solutions. He is also a mentor of his programming students for speed programming competitions, and he has strong programming skills. His research interests include natural language processing, information retrieval, data mining and machine learning. He won Technology and Innovation Award from the University of Balochistan, in 2019, and the Entrepreneurship Award from UMT, in January 2020.
